SSN has made significant progress over the last three months and has completed all of its regulatory requirements. Pilot training was conducted for participating credit unions whose core banking systems had been interfaced with Shared Services Payment Network (SSPN). SSN has also completed its first onsite assessment exercise with the Central Bank of Belize. The Central Bank of Belize is currently reviewing the critical functions of SSN’s business activities and the operational readiness of credit unions that have participated in SSN’s pilot training program. Following a successful second assessment, the Central Bank of Belize will provide SSN with a date for going live. Once SSN receives the go-live timeline from the Central Bank, SSN will convene a biweekly working group which will consist of a technical (IT) and a finance supervisor from each credit union. Soon to start will be the network-wide training of all credit union staff.
